The 250,000 Book Challenge

Preschool Promise currently has a fleet of Little Free Libraries, located primarily in Northwest Dayton, many of which are in tandem with our POP Spots. Our goal? Distribute 250,000 books to children and families in Dayton and Montgomery County over the next two years! We intend to blanket the community with books that will increase literacy, Kindergarten Readiness and ease of accessibility to a variety of stories to unlock imaginations.

These libraries are part of our Ready to Read program in the Hope Zone and an extension of the Play On Purpose initiative, which supports adult caregivers in engaging in playful interactions with their young children. Because learning begins at birth, the first five years of a child’s life matter.
