Ready to Read Program for teachers

The Ready to Read Program is a professional development initiative designed to support teachers in enhancing their instruction in language and literacy. Each month, teachers attend focused training sessions led by Britney Leavelle, Hope Zone Coaching Manager,  that delve into Ohio Early Learning Standards, with an emphasis on key language and literacy skills. These sessions provide teachers with practical strategies to strengthen their teaching practices and foster student growth.

In addition to the monthly training, teachers receive personalized one-on-one coaching, tailored to the strategies they learn during the professional development sessions. This coaching ensures that teachers are able to effectively apply these strategies in the classroom and continuously improve their instruction.

The ultimate goal of the Ready to Read Program is to increase Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA) scores in language and literacy, ensuring that young learners are well-prepared for success as they transition into kindergarten. Through ongoing support and targeted professional development, the program aims to build a strong foundation for early literacy that will benefit both teachers and students for years to come.
