Infant-Toddler Spotlight

Victoria Rohrer, CDA

Victoria has dedicated 19 years to early childhood education, working with infants and toddlers. Currently, she is nurturing a group of infants aged 6 weeks to 18 months at the Bombeck Family Learning Center, the University of Dayton's demonstration school. She participated in the Comprehensive Literacy State Development Grant, focusing on enhancing serve and return interactions in her classroom. Victoria stated, “In January 2024, I moved back to the Sunbeam room. LENA is helping me build attachment and relationships with infants. The process of serve and return really works!” This method fosters responsive interactions between children and adults, supporting brain development and laying the groundwork for future language and literacy skills. She emphasized the value of teamwork in creating enriching learning experiences for infants.
